Jensens Format Writing is reasonably priced. I just picked it up after a friend reccomended it, and it looks great! It is a book that is written so the student should be able to follow the instruction with just a little guidance from you. Also there are checklists for grading included (I need that!)

We have used IEW a lot in our house. It is also an excellent program. The Student Writing Intensive is very easy to use and comes with instructions on how to stretch it into a 15 week course. That said....it is around $100. Jensens is $20. Also, my highschooler needs more than the IEW student workshops. We might still do their highschool essay intensive. We will see how Jensen's works this year.
