We use an online tutor who is absolutely wonderful. Bonnie is a
PhD student in literature. She offers tutoring in both writing and
literature. She does not charge much (we paid $10 a week) and she
gives wonderful constructive feedback. I love the fact that Bonnie
designs a plan around YOUR student and YOUR goals, not having
your student fit a certain schedule or curriculum. Bonnie is flexible
to your schedule. If we have something else scheduled that week
(visitors, vacation or whatever), I just let Bonnie know ahead of
time.
My daughter did 2 years of Institute for Excellence in Writing and it
is a wonderful program, but she still lacked confidence in writing.
Writing became a struggle. She knew the mechanics of writing, but
not what to write from her own thoughts. With Bonnie, my
daughters confidence in her ability has just soared. We have
worked with Bonnie for a year in essay writing, and this year we
will start the literature program and some SAT essay practice. I
highly recommend Bonnie for anyone interested in equipping their
child with the skills for writing and/or interested in a literature
