this is a good thread. You are wise to ask the questions. I do believe "alternative medicine", specifically using herbs/homeopathic remedies (I don't have experience with acupuncture), can be a huge blessing from God; I myself had a medical problem after the birth of my 4th son that was alleviated with grapefruit seed extract NOT the antibiotics the dr. prescribed! I've always been thankful for this.

However, as this technique is described, it indeed sounds like a doorway into the occult; remember that satan sometimes masquerades as an angel of light, and that's what often makes this kind of stuff so appealing.

"Christian" is a hugely broad term. Deuteronomy 18 specifically tells us to stay away from this kind of stuff...biblically God says it's not ok.

I have experience with this...my nephew, a holistic health practitioner, is now in a commune associated with a world famous Indian woman. It is a source of great sorrow to me that he now has essentially checked out of society and is in very dangerous spiritual territory. I'm not saying necessarily that one caused the other, in fact I think in his case the spiritual stuff came first and drew him to the "medicine" stuff. I'm just saying I have this experience of the "new age" "alternative" "Eastern" etc. stuff and how it personally has affected a family member.
