Oh, my...I don't even know what to say about it. I would probably not bother with it. If you want a Jules Vern book, maybe "Around the World in 80 Days" would be better. I found the Mysterious Island to be wordy, confusing, racist, and just difficult to get through. I was determined to do so, but it won't be on my list of books I read more than once because I loved them.
