I'm no expert, but I've been where you are! When he was your son's age, my son had an occasional irritation, nothing major though. At that age my son's foreskin was not completely detached--it was fused somewhat. This caused my husband GREAT anxiety, but the docs all said to wait and it'll come loose on its own. It did! I'd say to keep doing what you're doing, try to pull the foreskin back and keep it as clean as possible. Make sure if you use soap to rinse it well. If it gets worse, take him in, but probably it will slowly get better and better.
