- whether to travel for Christmas. It was decided that we were not, but I undecided it. Dh is okay either way, he has reasons for wanting to go and wanting to stay here. I mostly don't want to go (I love family, but some things about gathering are just stressful, yk), but the kids want to go. I wanted to get some *here* traditions before the kids are all grown up, as we have never once been home for Christmas, but dh might be right that our tradition is to travel... they are more likely to keep that tradition and keep traveling (only to here instead of to grandma's) as they are to absorb a tradition of being here.

- phone companies. I've learned a few things lately... TMobile came out with an alternative to the home phone from the local phone company (Yeah!!!, we've been wanting an alternative). TMobile also has a way to set when a phone works and/or what numbers it works with: evidently we aren't the only parents to see a lack of discipline in their teens as far as cell phone and texting go. There is also a way to render a phone unusable (register a new sim card for it).

- Balderdash is an entirely different game with teenagers than it was with middle schoolers. I will NEVER forget "60 pound chicken sitting on a fence in Peru" one of the dc came up with as an 8yo. Now, I sometimes roll the dice to pick from the definitions.

- Is it worth getting a freezer at this stage of our lives? Sometimes I think so and sometimes I don't.
