I have been battling a cold for a few days now. Yesterday my sinuses and throat hurt so much from the coughing and blowing of the nose and they got dried out. This triggered a couple nose bleeds and gave me a red (chapped) nose. I dreaded going in to work today because I still did not feel good.
The first thing I did when I walked in the door was put a mask on. We always wear one with our patients, but take it off in between. Since I didn't want anyone else to get the germs, I just put it on and wore one the whole morning.
The moisture created in the mask helped me to keep from coughing and my nose could wait until between patients to blow. I can honestly say I felt better at the end of the morning than I did at the beginning.
Consider trying this if you notice the mucous areas (throat, sinus, nose)are really dry and you just need a little moisture. The immune building supplements are good but they just can't give the comfort on those dry tissues right away.
