is national program and starts in the fall. There is a "Kick Off" day where all the teams in a hub get together and see for the first time the "game". There is a basic -very- robot running the game in the time allowed (3 minutes for a round). Every team gets identical kits. From those kits you will get as many different looking robots as there are teams. You have 5 weeks to design and build a robot to do specific tasks to score in a game. At the 5 week mark we have a "practice" day where all the teams are required to attend and run through a few rounds of the game. On this day there are some robots that are still a pile of parts, some are built but not running well, and some that perform very well. We then have a final week to tweak our robots and have a "Game" day. There are around 8 preliminary rounds (every team runs 8-3 minute rounds). The top 8 teams go to the semi finals. There are a few rounds run then the top 4 four go to the finals. The top 2 robots go onto a regional. There is what they call the BEST side of the robotics team. This side is where the booth is built to be judged, a presentation team is judged, and all our documentation is put into a notebook that is also judged. The 2 top teams in BEST are qualified to go to regional. There they compete just like on "Game" day.
