check out http://www.usfirst.org/what/frc/default.aspx?id=366 Ds is on a robotic team this year, I am totally amazed at what they do and how the whole thing is organized (both his club and as a national thing). They are serious about the "gracious professionalism"... parent after parent who had been involved in previous years told about how this program has energized their dc in various ways. Lol, it was funny that after every non-rookie parent had spoken, the mentor noted that not a single one said anything about robotics. They talked about the challenge, the atmosphere at the competitions and at the build site, the enthusiasm, the teamwork, ect. Homeschooler clubs are welcome (and there are some) but it is a bit late for this year I think, or maybe not... but you need like 25 seriously interested kids (or more, there is no upper limit for team size) for the team. It takes a ton of time, but Wow!.
