I go through the whole house about every year, getting rid of
things. Only once in a while am I sorry later about something I got
rid of, like my steel wok and the dehydrator I had that had
adjustable temperature.

Our house is small, so I really need to stay on it or I will go crazy.
We just cannot keep up with the clutter if we have too much.

Freecycle has helped a lot with getting rid of things. So have
Bookmooch and Paperback Swap.I also take books to the used
bookstore to see what I can get for them before offering them
elsewhere.

That is a great idea about an empty shelf. We seem to think that if
we have space, we should fill it up. Ykwim?
