Fast food chains were the exception, but we went for 2 weeks and didn't want to eat fast food the whole time for OBVIOUS reasons. When we were in bigger towns like Billings, it was easier, but again, that was chains, like Olive Garden. We loved, loved, LOVED Mackenzie River Pizza Company in Bozeman (and there's one in Billings too. We ate at both. Good pizza and NO gambling!) Where are you going?

A River Runs Through It was filmed (at least in part) in Livingston. We didn't hit Kalispel and Glacier, but pretty much hit the hot spots b/t Butte and Miles City (if you can call Miles City a "hot spot" lol, but we loved it and loved people who lived there!) We visited Pompey's Pillar too.

We also went to Wyoming's Yellowstone. We entered and exited from the North. We spent 3 nights there, each in a different part of the park. We loved it ALL. The bears that were spotted when we were there were in the north area. We saw plenty of buffalo and elk, and a coyote! I loved the painter's pots and Old Faithful, but I preferred it at night. It was so cool! Do yourself a favor and don't do what I did: read Death at Yellowstone while you're there, lol. I called Death By Yellowstone lol! Terrible stories. So sad. I read it aloud to DH so he'd hold on to my ds's hand better while we were there! (He'd fallen in MT and had stitches in his chin, so I was doubly scared he'd get hurt and have some park ranger stitch him up again!)

It is a GORGEOUS part of our nation. Enjoy your trip! I'd love to hear all about it when you get back.
