Typically, a course in geometry follows Algebra I. This is because the PSAT is administered in the Junior Year and covers geometry as well as algebra. If you want your daughter to take the PSAT in her Junior year, then I would do geometry after the algebra I course. The PSAT is the test that is tied to the National Merit Scholarship program. If you don't care about the PSAT, then it would be more logical to go directly into Algebra II for the sake of continuity.
I would not require her to take both at the same time unless she excels in math and enjoys math. If she prefers language/reading/social studies types of courses and would rather do as little math as possible, I would just have her do one math course a year.
It really depends on your daughter's interests and strengths.
