This is a wide open question because what is it that your son doesn't understand. He hasn't learned his times table. Very important. There are many good math curriculums out there. Just take one and go for it. It helps to go to a curriculum fair and get a look at one. For the very basics, we used Math U See, then switched to Saxon, then used Abeka for Pre-Algebra.
