Subject:	What Saxon should 7th grder take?

I am currently pulling my son out of public school. He excells in math and so I am wondering what Saxon (the currc. I chose) I should get. In public school he was a 7th grader in the 8th grade prealgebra (which is what all the average 8th graders take). Does that mean getting 8/7 or 1/2? Is 1/2 higher than 8/7 or lower.

If you don't like Saxon, why, and what currc. would you get for a boy that is a visual and hands on learner (though he did well with Saxon in 5th gr)
