Yes, it is very thorough but on the boring side. I tried a number of programs before coming up with my own. Mine's actually the best parts of several methods put together. Namely, Alpha-Phonics, Reading Reflex and the Explode the Code workbooks. It's available to download for free at my site: www.reading-help.net You certainly can't lose anything to try it. If it doesn't seem to work for your son then just toss it. Lynda
