Hi Pam, We have used Phonics Pathways 9th edition with our 4 (now 5) year old, and found it to be really effective. We only do one or two pages a day so he isn't overwhelmed. Also, I now use ETC to reinforce what we have gone over in the Phonics Pathways book. This has worked great for us. I hope this helps! Michelle C.
