Have you used Explode the Code K or 1st grade to teach your dc to read? Is it a thorough phonics program? Does it teach sight reading? My 5 yo ds is just not getting it. I've been working with him with Phonics Road to Spelling and Reading, but he doesn't seem to catch on to puting it all together to actually start reading.
