I think it is wonderful that you have decided to homeschool your children. I can relate to the family objections but you have to do what you feel is right for you and your family. I also agree that ABEKA is a wonderful curriculum but it can get really expensive and take up a lot of your time. I started out with ABEKA for K, 1st & Second grades and then switched to ACE School of Tom. which is a pace program and my daughter seems to love it. Basically books are broken down into smaller portions per subject. Twelve paces per year per subject and you work at your own pace. Like the other person said you will find a curriculum that will make you happy. FYI the pace program offers a pre test so you will know exactly where to begin since your children have been in public schools. If you are interested and decide to go with the pace program I have 3rd and 4th grade paces, with the keys and books. If you would like to contact me back for nothing other than to chat about homeschooling my e-mail is
Hope you will enjoy homeschooling.
