when I first started getting charged for paypal transactions that weren't by credit card, I called paypal. The lady I spoke to told me to simply have the buyers use the personal option and there would be no fee. After reading your question, I took the time to actually look into the fees, etc. I will no longer be asking people to use the personal option. I will simply raise my prices a little to cover the fees. I never used paypal to pay for anything before, except for purchases from Ebay, so I never looked at the personal option. You are right. If you use the personal option, it really is intended to be used when transfering money between friends and relatives, for a gift, payment owed, etc. It really doesn't appear to be for payments for purchases. I am glad you brought that up so I actually looked at it. Again, I won't be asking anyone to do that from now on.
