| Subject: | Backed off sale- Harassed and bad feedback |

Okay, I recently backed out of a sale, yes, I did it!
I asked to buy a $10 book a few days ago, the seller asked me to find the ad and cut and paste even though I had included the title and price in my email. Then she emailed back telling me that she only takes money orders and that I needed to get it out that weekend. I live in a rural area so I told her I would try to get it Monday, then no reply. Well over the weekend I looked around some more and decided to go a completely different way with my children's writing. I emailed her yesterday morning to let her know that I had changed my mind, apologized, and thanked her for the opportunity.
I know backing out is not so great, I can't remember another time doing it, and I know as a seller it's disappointing. I didn't really think she would have a huge problem since it's $10, and I explained why.
Anyhoo, she wrote me back demanding that I had already bought it as soon as I sent my address. I emailed her saying that unless the money is in hand you don't have a sale. Perhaps that was abrupt but I was truly shocked by her response! So I got home this evening only to find another disparaging email about my dishonesty and when I looked up the item at the sale site she had left negative comments about me!
What should I do? I have already apologized, and explained where I am coming from. Should I just swallow it, buy the book, and re-sell it?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
Sarah
