I once mailed a check to a lady that never arrived. I finally mailed another check and got my book promptly.The first check was never cashed.I have had two packages get lost by the Post Office. One arrived after three months , the other never got there.99% of the time the Post Office gets everything where it is supposed to be, but mishaps do happen.

The only way to know for sure, is to see if the moneyorder has been cashed.She may be ripping you off, but she may just be telling the truth.
You really should have kept the stub from the moneyorder. With the number on the stubb you could easily find out if it had been cashed or not.
I doubt Walmart can help you without the number from the part you were supposed to keep. You can try asking.
In the future you might want to send a check and agree to let the seller wait untill it clears before mailing the package.
At this point, you may never know for sure.
