I responded promptly to Nancy upon arriving home and receiving the e-mails from her stating that the books were missing and accusing me of mail fraud. I also sent her money back the very next morning. I asked her to recant her accusations of mail fraud and asked her a question about the box she received and she has not yet done so, so here are my questions for her (which she has not yet responded to via e-mail) so you can see what I am dealing with:

How could I have refused to respond to her e-mails if I never even checked my e-mail while exploring the wilds of the Big Island of Hawaii with my husband all week?

How did I get a receipt from the post office for $4.33 showing her package was full upon entrusting it to them and weighing 6 1/2 pounds with her city and zipcode on it if it was an empty package? (I offered to mail a copy to her..no response)

Is she willing to acknowledge that the "contents missing" labels were put on at her post office upon receiving the package empty there and that there may have been a problem during transit from here to there (like too weak of packaging for the weight, which I fully accepted responsibility for if that's the case)

Also, does she have any response to my concern about a potentially disgruntled postal employee whom I have had several strange interactions with upon mailing my books and might have had something to do with the emptying of the Christianbook box I used to mail them? (Maybe that sounds like a long shot, but I have been trying to figure out what happened).

And lastly, if she is still so sure that I am involved in mail fraud because I went on vacation, promptly returned her e-mails upon arriving home and receiving them, and mailed her payment back immediately upon her stating that the box arrived empty, how can she expect me to trust her in this whole situation as she is allowing this slander of my name to go unrecanted? Does she have any compassion at all since I am the one who has lost my books and has had her name placed here very harshly and judgementally when she can't really know for sure what really happened?

She has said that she is an attorney. I wonder if she operates under the legal right of innocent until proven guilty?
