They work like a TracFone, so costs for the phone & phone cards can vary depending on what type of bells & whistles you want.....

My hubby had a basic phone (about $20) and phone cards that ranged from $10 - $40....

The clarity was MUCH better than our international cell phone on the 'more bars in more places' company's plan.....
