We lived on the arsenal for the first year we were there. We lived on Hughes Drive. The school zone for the arsenal....boooooooo. Just check out their state report card and reported test scores. We bought a house to be in Providence school district, which was supposed to be better. We ended up with our son going to Madison Academy. We absolutely loved it there. We moved in late May to the Birmingham area and this will be our first year of homeschooling. Honestly, had we stayed up there, we would have put both kids (K and 3rd) in Madison Academy. However, there are tons of people on the arsenal that home school. As you know, people move so often that it's hard to tell who is still there and which has moved. To find other families, go to the library arsenal and the wonderful ladies there can put you in contact with other homeschooling families. It is a small library but it is great. The are linked in with Huntsville Public library so they can participate in book/resource loans. Hope this helps!
