Please I need help from any Military families that homeschooled overseas.

I feel very ignorant right now because I cannot make heads or tails out of the
foreign sites.

Any move our (Civilian Family) had oppurtunity to make career wise through
the years...was always ultimately decided upon if the state was
homeschooling friendly....we must be able to HS our child.

My husband has an opportunity to work for the military. We are in the early
stages of doing research.

They asked DH "where are you willing to go?" and my husband told them a
slew of locations. There was so much on the list I cannot remember, but to
name a few Internationally there is Germany, Italy, (Naples and Sicily) I believe
Canada. Then there is NJ, Arizona, Colorado and a bunch of others.

My question is this if we Homeschool our children and we are there for an
American Government Position. Are we following the HS'ing Law of that
country...OR...dare I say..Do we have some sort of immunity as we are there
operating under the "Umbrella" of American Government?

We HS in an eclectic our child's pace (he is special needs and I am SO
stressed. If the country (that we have no idea we will be going to) is HS'ing
friendly. If our son will be obligated to take the tests of THAT country
(whichever country we are in).

I am so confused. I Know there are some Int'l countries that HS. There are
HS'ers in Sigonella , Italy...I found a support group....but their posts have
been dwindling over the last year and nothing since August. Which is strange.
Unless they are no longer operating.

I found an Italian site that I translated, that does say you CAN Homeschool in
Italy but you are required to follow the schools curriculum. Obviously this site
was intended for Italians. I do not know if we are to follow those laws
regarding registering our child or American Laws (which vary state to state
so how is that done) Are military families always allowed to HS
overseas...even if a particular country does not allow that?

I do not know if we would be allowed to join a HS Group "Stationed" in a
particular location if WE are not Military, but DH is working for the military.

Are we considered expats?

Any input from traveling, Military, HS'ing, expats???? That have been through

Please help me.
