I have four children - 11, 9, 7 & 6. We start our day with "journal" -- I give the kids 3 "ideas" to choose from and they write a one page story with a picture in their decorated bound journal book. then we move on to math (math-u-see) and then we go outside for free play with bikes, scooters, digging in the dirt, observing bugs, collecting leaves, etc. Then inside for snack. We then do some legos, building set, crafts, etc. Then quiet reading time on their own -- the little ones read to me. Then lunch break. After lunch on some days I read to them about science (maybe do a science experiment) -- other days we do spelling (sequential spelling) or spanish with rosetta stone-- and last part of the day is geography with My Father's World curriculum -- i mostly read aloud to them but there are some crafts, map activities and biogrpahy books we explore. Our days start at 8am and usually end around 2pm. From 2pm until dinnertime they can visit friends, play out side or pursue their own interests.

I used to be a workbook mama but since discovering CM approach I realized that if I give them the unstructured time (very few tv hours at our house)and some basic tools (good living books, basic craft supplies, access to the outdoors) then they will learn, learn , learn! It's exciting : )
