I've been buying some CM supplies from Queen Homeschool supplies and am excited about trying a new approach. I've been hs'ing for 6 yrs, and originally started out with Unit Study (KONOS), but after having a 2nd child, running a biz from home, etc., it just got too hard to do and we resorted to workbook/textbook/computerized school. Now school is a drudge everyone hates. I now have 4 kids, and devote my time full time to them (except housekeeping, of course!), so I want to TRY CM's method to see if I can help the kids recapture love of learning. My kids are BIG readers anyway, so I hope this will work. I would love to know if anyone is out there recently lurking for me to ask a few questions of, like: what's your experience w/copywork? It seems like the kiddos would hate it, but i understand the premise of it. How do you manage it, and do you really follow the "one mistake and you recopy the entire day's lesson" method? I'm hoping for some ideas, support, encouragement. I am using this on a 9th grade boy, 3grade boy and may try some on a 3yo girl (with baby wrapped on me securely!). Thanks for any responses!
