What happened? Life, in general, I guess, plus a few board blow-ups that were crazy.

I've heard of one or two occasions when the board was hacked to Hades, which probably wasn't exactly encouraging. Life ... well our involvement in things HSing has tapered off in the years since we graduated our youngest. So that makes sense, too. But new people should be coming in at the same time. I know I've referred people to VS (along with a certain other board) through the years.

The last blow-up I saw was when "Butch" got sent to Cyberia for promoting her own secular HSing board on VS's Secular board.

I hate sounding like a boor that criticizes his host's taste in furniture, but look & feel, usability and features, matter in discussion boards. VS's look and UI shout "1998". Having been on 'net discussion boards back then, I recognize the vintage. But to some one new, it could just look odd and clunky. OTOH, if the Vegan boards are thriving, a SW migration is not simple and fun and it mightn't be worth it. OTOOH, once an update is done maintaining and Moderating the new boards might be easier.
