We homeschooled our two children K-12 and they are both now college students at a public university. The college wanted to see their transcript of high school courses which I provided. They also wanted a list of resources used for each course which i provided. I added a page summarizing their extracurricular, community service and work experiences. (They were very involved in extra curricular and community service). So that was just 3 pages. Their college also accepted either ACT or SAT or the college's own in house math and English placement tests.

Generating a transcript is also useful for getting a reduced rate on car insurance. the good student waiver can be worth hundreds of dollars in reduced car insurance a year, especially with more than one student.
