I don't have the time to do extensive research on this subject. However, I still contend that increases in income really only matter if you also know about expenses.
For example,
From 1992-2000 (Democrat president)
Wages increased by 34.79%
Housing increased by 42%
From 2001-2008 (Republican president)
Wages increased by 25.58%
Housing increased by 26%
Yes, that's simplistic, and more data would be needed. But the whole point is, how much your income increases is meaningful only when you have the whole picture. Also:
From 1973-2008
Wages increased by 445%
Housing increased by 667%
In that area, at least, it doesn't sound like we are better off under either Democrats or Republicans.
