I looked into getting one for my husband and decided to spend the extra money (which is significant) to get an iPad since it can be used as an ebook as well. But, I do have a friend with a Kindle and she likes it. It is light and the screen is nice to read - very similar to paper. It can also read the text aloud, but it sounds very mechanical.

I guess I am just 'old-fashioned' because I still like the feel of a book (and being able to underline and write things in the margins - typing 'notes' just isn't the same.) I was disappointed by how much the ebooks cost. It seems to me that they should be cheaper.
