My own opinion is starting to be this: I think the right might be using this as the "new" wedge issue instead of dragging out old faithfuls, ab)rtion & gay rights. Everyone now knows that they won't do one thing about those two issues if/when they are ever in power again so they needed a new hysteria and this is it. The test will be this: if/when they do get back into power will they do something about this? It will be interesting to see how they propose to give everyone freedom of religion, except for one.

But, my question becomes this: when/how do we know where the line is drawn? Should Catholic churches not be within two blocks of playgrounds since many children have and will be abused by Catholic priests? Should we allow or not allow Muslim-Americans to build or move into the Private Property of their choosing? I thought Private Property meant something.

These are just things I ponder as I see RW pundits and politicians jumping on the bandwagon, or creating the bandwagon, that will give one religion less freedom than the rest.

Oh, and this is my Big Question that I'm wondering: I always hear Americans and especially conservatives complaining about having to be "politically correct"! But, isn't that what is now expected at the not-a-mosque which is not-at-ground-zero? Political correctness?

All asked with sincerity and confusion,
