I don't have the blueprints for the Pentagon, so you'll have to rely on your own wits via Google for that information. LOl!

Why do I care what other people make?
It's not what people make in dollars and cents, it's how they make it and what they do with it when they get it.

I also have a problem that money as a measure of a man's or woman's worth but society today seems to be captivated by that way of life. You may not foster that ideology personally, but it is quite evident in our society as a whole via rampant consumerism, the obsession with bigger houses or second houses, the celebrity status of TV ministers (not to mention the huge temple buildings), the grotesque gambling on Wall Street and ....well, I could go on. No account for taste, in my estimation.

One of many consequences of an indulgent (American) society is growing apathy. For eg, white collar crimes are poorly kept in check nor held accountable while blue collar crimes are often given over to the gallows and the poor are used as fodder for political ambitions. (Note: Your kids college texts on Criminal Justice is where the necessary 101 on crime stats can be found.)

That said, RLs example of self-indulgence & hypocritical condemnation of others for same/similar sins he has committed, & self-aggrandizing speeches spreading the US vs THEM ideology is repulsive to me. Similarly, RLs sanctimonious rantings is akin to bearing false witness. I hope you will pardon my weak stomach.

Considering RL's distinction of running a well-crafted Barnum n Bailey show while savoring his grandeur as a well-paid luminary, I have a question. Why has he been further rewarded as a magnate or 'authoritative' figure within the Republican Party? For a conservative, I would find it embarrassing.

Alec Baldwin etc. for the quintessential liberal, btw, is a poor example, imm. The man should be treated for mood disorder. Sooooo, when did Hollywood become the bedrock for critical thinking skills in philosophy, social justice, democracy and diplomacy? If you're religious, a better choice would be Sojourners.com, Interfaith Alliance or Foundation of Ethnic Understanding - ffeu.org. For others, there are congregates of intelligent 'liberal' thinkers who no doubt would find the likes of Baldwin or the ever-narcissistic Streisand uninspiring at best. I don't watch TV, so I have no idea if Oprah is liberal, centrist or whatever.

I have another question:
What would be an example of wealth exercising conservative standards....?

Let's leave out the religious dogma for a change. I am curious.
