I never said that differing opinions were deleted - so maybe that comment was just meant to be a general clarification. I think Queen said that down below.

As for Limbaugh, I'm not sure where you get your facts from, but I found that in general people who complain most about him have never actually listened to his show for more than a few minutes. Now, I can't say that I blame you... He does come off as a pompous, arrogant person - but he is primarily an entertainer and that is part of his "gimmick". Of course, if you disagree with him, that only makes him even MORE irritating. But I truly don't think he is the hideous three-headed beast that liberals tend to think he is. What bothers me more than almost anything else is when he's called an entertainer if/when he's caught not telling the truth. And, he doesn't tell the truth. I have watched him but, as you say, never for very long. I say "watched" because many years ago he had a tv program. My in-laws watched him. It was on late at night and I was up so I tried, for their sake, to watch. Within the first 5 minutes he had told his audience that I believed something so atrocious that it was unfathomable. Yes, I turned him off. He and his type have dehumanized us on the left. We aren't the two-headed monsters he says we are and I object to his being able to so easily lie about us and get away with it. As to the incident I mentioned, there are police records on file. He was not arrested -I don't know why- but there is a police report on the incident. If you want, I can search them out - but really don't have the time tonight or the inclination - just let me know though if you want to see it and I will soon. We have lots going on right now but I can and will do it if you want. To put it simply, I just don't respect the man. I can't trust his word as truth and think that he simply makes millions off of lying. I can't stand that. I hope that makes sense and that you see that I'm railing against him, not you personally. I don't understand why people watch/listen to him and maybe you can give some insights into that. I am truly mystified and curious on that point because "in my world" he shouldn't be on the air any longer after he has lied so many times. (said honestly and sincerely and with curiosity)

I know the muslim cultural center is actually planned to be located two blocks away from "ground zero", but I still feel that is too close. I just don't think Americans (and yes, I know there are Muslim Americans, but they are still a small minority) need to give that particular plot of land to be used for such a purpose. The problem with this outlook, in my viewpoint, is that one day we may be the minority and so do we want the majority making these decisions for us? If we know the following: (a) we aren't fighting the religion (even Bush said so), (b) Muslims died during 9/11 alongside Americans, (c) Muslim-Americans helped with the cleanup and rescues, (d) the Muslim religion doesn't support the radicals (many think they do, I don't think they support the radicals - that may be up for discussion). If we can agree definitely on A-C and hopefully D as well, then why shouldn't they have the facility anywhere? I stand by my original post above as far as agreeing with Mayor Bloomberg and that article I posted. I just see it as another issue that has been used for political fire-fighting and I hate that.

I do appreciate the conversation and hope that you will see that we love discussion!! I wish every conversation could be a give and take with food for thought for everyone. It doesn't always work out that way, though.
