Why should I allow that Reps learned their lesson when they are currently, right now, running their campaigns and filibusters using the same principles? They are claiming that tax cuts, unpaid for tax cuts, are the end-all answer and that has been proven not to be the case. Simply saying no to a need doesn't make the need go away. If they had learned their lesson, why did they vote against PAYGO? That makes no sense.

And, if their base voted them out, I would ask if you were part of that? Or did you vote for them? I don't want you to answer that -- but the question came to mind. Their base is actually more radical today on the same ideology that was used by them when they were in power.

The Bush administration bailed out the banks without any expectation of repayment. When Obama came into office, he demanded repayment with interest and most of it has been paid back. Same thing with the auto industry. Repayment was demanded with interest and most has been paid back. The reason we have to discuss this is because if we ignore how we got into the mess, we run the risk of it happening again.
