That statement can be proven by facts and figures, no doubt.

By the year 2014 (conventional wisdom), more than half the jobs in the USA will require a degree. A second language is no longer asked for as 'a hope and a prayer' by Human Resource Directors -- it's expected. "Castiano" is the predominant second language in this country.

Just yesterday, while talking with a university student, age 26, who just completed his Phd, he stated that Bachelors degrees will soon be valued like High School degrees; which isn't much, these days even. Serious students are not wasting their time in their 20's.

Intelligence isn't enough to compete in this *global economy*. People who get the job must be able to prove they have the tenacity to get thru a system and be willing to be teachable. That is why college degrees are in demand.
