I would guess that someone is being quick to find out who new posters are, as we've had some personal attacks, including someone actually calling one previously regular poster's workplace, and harassing her to the point where she felt it necessary to actually move her family. We've also had someone get banned for such practices, and then come back more than once under new (and false!) names, beginning each time with a post similar to your first one. Folks are understandably a bit cautious, and I'd bank that the motive was to verify that you were not the troublemaker returning. Nonetheless, please, do reconsider leaving your email addy exposed, and if anything escalates from that contact, report it.
