On the very day (in November) that I learned I was pg with one of our dc, my dh got word at work that his good insurance was coming to an end at the end of that year. I was very grateful that his insurance would cover my first visit (in December) but was also very sad about the fact we would have not-so-good insurance after that.

On the day of my first visit, my OB (who had delivered my former dc and had become a good friend) noticed I was down. When he asked why, I told him.

As I was leaving the examination room, he stopped me and told me he would only collect what the new insurance company would pay. WOW, what a load that took off my shoulders! We still had to pay hospital bills (made payments, but no interest), but that was a BIG help. I have asked the Lord to bless that man, many times.

Some doctors are in it just for the money (I've encountered too many of those), but there are doctors who really care, who are compassionate.
