I remember a DVD I saw a few years ago, name eludes me, based on truth, where this poor school went up against a "rich" school for the academic decathlon (whatever its called). They beat the rich school, but lost their award because there was a question of cheating on the part of one of the poor kids, since the decathlon owners couldn't believe these poor kids could beat the rich kids, made them take the test over, and did other things to make sure the rich kids won.

The movie makes it very clear that the privileged kids had access to all sorts of help, tutoring, etc., etc. not available to the poor kids. So once again, the rich kids won. It was clear that a system where the deck is stacked is unfair and hypocritical. I do believe that all public schools are agents of social control, and the myth of "elite" colleges is part of all that.

Just another good reason to homeschool, yes?
