what you are saying is factually incorrect. There was a significant ban signed by Bush in 2003 whereas Obama voted against helping those who survive. Both men did cast votes or sign items which do have a real impact on how we treat the least amongst us. That neither of these bills were as perfect as one might hope for--on either side--does not negate the moral impact and effect of voting/signing the version put up for the vote.

However, I stand by what I said originally:
Just as I vote Rep despite some issues or stances I don't like, I would assume that my fellow believers on the other side of the aisle do likewise. They place a different emphasis on this particular issue than I do.

There were many who wanted slavery to be a nonissue politically and we had several Presidents leading up to Lincoln who tried to ignore it or take it off the table. So, while I understand why you might want to remove it as an issue, politically, I hope you will understand why I respectfully think that is wrong.
