DH, who in addition to being the best dad ever is also excellent in his profession. He has a couple more courses to complete to achieve an advanced designation in his field. The industry wide recognition ceremony for this designation is in Hawaii and assuming he passes everything in time, his company will pay for he and I to go to this ceremony. Needless to say, free trips to Hawaii are not in my everyday experience and I am QUELLE excited!

And then we get a letter today from the certification folks who are SO EXCITED at the "impressive" panel they've lined up for us to listen to in Hawaii including...

drum roll please...

Eleanor Clift of Newsweek and the (hands down most annoying member of) McLaughlin group.

Can you imagine me listening to Eleanor Clift? I feel like writing Tony Blankley and congratulating him after each and every McLaughlin group that he makes it through sitting on same stage with her. If you asked me, who is the most annoying liberal voice in the mainstream press, Eleanor Clift would get my vote hands down.

DH has already said we can feel free to skip that session...especially as she will be offering "insightful" just-post-election commentary. Sadly, with my interest in all things political, I might feel compelled to attend anyway but then again, with Hawaii's sandy beaches beckoning vs. being stuck in a room with Eleanor Clift, I think I beaches might win!

Anyway, I know several of you here will be amused at the very thought of Eleanor and I in the same room...
