there are laws and guidelines they must follow and legitimate competition. Insurance is an excellent example, Jaq. First of all, we are bound by law to insure homes and cars and without health care, one is in big trouble these days. "So don't buy it and the price will come down," doesn't cut it today. It doesn't work when lobbyists really run the world - and write the laws.

They don't self-govern at all. Also, look at the oil corporations. How can they report record profits and still get by with $4/gal gas? At $2/gal, they would still be making humongous profits but there is a WH that is stuffing its personal pockets full while the gettin' is good, refusing to "jawbone" OPEC as he promised in '00.
