What it says to me is that people can study different religions without abandoning their own faith. If there is dialogue and understanding between the different religions, I would hope for tolerance and respect for each other's differences.

At this point, the RR makes up other people's minds for them. Falwell and Robertson etc. called Muslims evil. How can dialogue and earnest understanding occur when you're telling people to fear and loath those who are different?
