Erie Area Day Apart and Curriculum Fair Saturday, March 28, 2009 Grace Church, 7300 Grubb Road McKean, Pennsylvania 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM The Erie Area Day Apart, now entering its 21st year, has joined forces with the local curriculum fair. This first-of-its-kind local event will feature a day full of informational sessions, a new vendor hall, and a large used book area. The Day Apart and Curriculum Fair is designed to encourage present and future homeschoolers, and teens, and to equip them with information and materials to home educate with excellence. The Day Apart and Curriculum Fair will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2009 at Grace Church, 7300 Grubb Road, in McKean, Pennsylvania. Registration begins at 8:30 AM and the event will close at 2:30 PM. Janet Preston, founder of the Day Apart, will serve as the keynote speaker. Janet has graduated all 5 of her children from her homeschool and always manages to encourage listeners with her insight. Following the keynote address, sessions will be running throughout the day, with seminar topics such as PA Homeschool Law, Logs and Portfolios, Awesome Art at Home, Financial Prudence, Lapbooking, Creative Writing, Special Needs Panel Discussion, Men of Exception in our Homes, Preparing Your High Schoolers for College, High School at Home, The Missional Life, Multiple Intelligences, Learning to Read, and more. The Grace Church Café will be open for breakfast and lunch, and will also offer snacks and beverages throughout the day. In addition to the sessions, a New Vendor hall will be open from 10 AM to 2:30 PM. Vendors attending the Day Apart and Curriculum Fair include A Beka Books, BJU Press, CHAP, Erie County Homeschool Diploma Association, Mystic Mountain Training Center, INSIGHT, PA Homeschoolers, Seek First Ministries, Sight Word Game, and Usborne Books. Attendees also have the option of selling their used books and curriculum through our large used book room. For a 10% fee, we will sell your books and homeschooling-related items for you, giving you the opportunity to attend sessions and shop. In order to sell books in our used book area, you must pre-register with Ellen Fichera via email at wireddifferent@roadrunner.com. At that time, you will receive complete details on how to mark your books for this sale. Special Note: The Used Book room will be cash and carry only. Pre-registration costs (by March 9) are $6.00 per person, or $10.00 per couple. The price increases on March 10th to $8.00 per person or $14.00 per couple. The price at the door on March 28th will be $10.00 per person, and $18.00 per couple. Please do not delay – request your registration form today! The first 200 people to register will receive a free resource bag. Volunteers are needed to help in the used book area and at the registration table. Volunteers will receive $1.00 off their registration, and will be allowed to shop ˝ hour early in the used book area. To volunteer, please email Ellen at wireddifferent@roadrunner.com.
