Today's Home Educator Magazine

**Writer's Guidelines

Today's Home Educator (THE) is going to be a quarterly magazine dedicated to providing free form articles and opinion pieces on subjects from across the spectrum. Articles typically run 600 to 2000 words whether it be current affairs, arts and culture, inspirational pieces, politics, sports, science and beyond, or even just a spirited rant. Today's Home Educator aims to offer informed, challenging perspectives that step beyond the mainstream homeschool media. The magazine does not have a particular slant because we welcome all points of view. We do not feel it is appropriate to restrict anyone from making a reference to God nor is it appropriate to restrict anyone from stating that they do not believe in God. Our mission is to be the "FOX News" of the homeschool community by offering a well-balanced periodical.

**THE Departments

Cover Stories – These articles tend to be longer (1000+) words. It is okay to inject opinion, but these articles must be journalistic in nature.

Our Community – Learning about each other and the rest of the world. These articles are personal to homeschoolers and may include (but not limited to) references to religion, lifestyle, beliefs, and unique situations. These articles are intended to inform, not personally attack, preach or convert.

Homeschool Dads – We want to hear from our dads.

Educational Resources – Websites, curriculum reviews, book reviews, ideas, suggestions, etc. We are particularly interested in websites that do not have any pop-ups.

THE Kid’s Korner - A homeschool magazine would be incomplete without the work of our children.
