Hi, I am starting to home school my Kindergartner. To say I am overwhelmed is an understatement. I have taught in a private Christian preschool for the past 3 years (an actual preschool, where we teach the kids a curriculm, NOT a daycare.) Despite this, I am unsure what to buy, what type of a plan to make, etc.

I know that in most areas, my DD is above the "norm" for what kindergartners are expected to know and what they are taught in public school. We had an aggressive curriculm at our school. :) But I dont feel that in EVERY area she would be ready to advance to 1st grade, so a boxed set wouldnt work.

I went to Mardel to try to get a feel for different curricula, but left feeling less sure of myself, not more! The way some of them are coded "level A", "Part 1", etc- what does that mean? And even here on vegsource, many times people are selling the parent guide, but not the student one. Is that all I need? If I need the student one, is it readily available?

What would be a good curriculm for her to advance on in some subjects, but not in all?
Is there a test she can take to make sure she fully grasps the kindergarten skills and is ready to advance?
Does anyone do online private schools instead? Pros/cons?

I am sorry for all the questions, but I am at a LOSS!!!

Thanks in advance for your help and input.
