fun, holiday-specific educational materials to supplement
your lesson plans, here are three you may want to consider:
This download has 31 student pages in which students will
learn about George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, money
(specifically the penny, quarter, $1 and $5 bills), the
Washington Monument, and the Lincoln Memorial. Skills
include tracing, coloring and writing, counting and
recognition of number words. Students will also be able to
create their own President’s Day mini-book.
This download is centered around 27 vocabulary words and
contains a variety of activities: categorizing parts of
speech, discovering word meanings, alphabetizing, creative
writing as well as a fun word maze and a word search.
(Answer keys are also included.) Although this unit is
leveled at 3rd-4th grade, it is appropriate for advanced 2nd
graders as well as remedial 5th graders.
This download is perfect for any study of the presidents.
Each card contains the president’s name, portrait, date of
birth and death, party affiliation, age when inaugurated,
his term(s) and a interesting, ‘famous’ fact.
