you rewrote the tests to make the definitions multiple choice or matching instead of pull all the information from your head type question the author uses on the tests? I can see doing this. I actually left the question that way, but the day before test day I gave a voc test, covering all vocab words from the beginning of the book -- it was matching or fill in the blank or even multiple choice. I did this for two reasons #1 I wanted my dc to learn and know all the definitions, not just remember them for the test. and #2 [more importantly] It helped my one who did more poorly on the remember everything for the definition student recall the definitions better for the test, the next day. He actually did better on the full years' definitions than my one who can memorize words for a test.
