Does the college you're interested in require a GED? You might start by asking them what their requirements would be. The two of my children who went to college did not take the GED. They took the SAT and ACT, submitted applications and trascripts, etc., in the traditional way. They also took dual-credit classes at a local university during their senior years. Perhaps you may want to look into that? You would also want to consider your child's maturity level and potential living arrangements. My son who went to tech school took the GED at 16, passed with flying colors, and went happily on his way. That's what the school required.
