We are going to start VideoText this Fall based on these comments from a few friends who use it. One of these friends is a Chemistry teacher who loves how it prepares the kids for science.

It goes very slow and methodical and is actually Pre-Algebra and Algebra 1&2. It explains the math in such away that the kids are not being taught short cuts that might work sometimes, but actually helping them understand the why behind the process. It teaches the students to understand the abstract concepts and they can apply their understanding in whatever comes their way on a standardized test.

The people in my circle (co-op of over 150 families) however prefer Jacobs Geometry over VideoText Geometry. Apparently Jacobs is more engaging and like VideoText's Algebra, breaks it down into understandable pieces.

HTH's!
